Meet Ally Earnley


Ally Earnley joined Team SEQ as a Project Manager last month, and since she’s still alive to tell the tale we decided a little Q&A was in order. Ally’s got Massachusetts roots which we promised not to hold against her (unless she roots for the Bruins), and shares a strange love of an odd object with Drake. The good news is that if things don’t end up working out for Ally at SEQ we know exactly where to find her: in Lisbon, on the beach, sleeping next to a glass of sangria.

Question: So, how’d you get into this crazy industry in the first place?

Answer: It kind of just happened. I went to college and thought I wanted to be in Public Relations. My first job out of school I was doing PR and Marketing, and also some event planning. The more I got involved in the events, the more I loved it and knew that was what I wanted to be doing. I did corporate in-house events for about 5 years prior to joining Sequence and as different as it has been to be on the agency side now, the experience has been exactly what I was looking for. I couldn’t be happier to be a part of Team SEQ!

Q: Your personality. Three words. Go.

A: Motivated. Organized. Resourceful.

Q: As an event producer, what are three things that are always in your event tool kit?

A: Aside from the usual supplies, I always like to have a cordless charger for smartphones and tablets, double-sided stick tape, and a lint roller. Editors Note: SEQ Trivia Time! What do Ally and Drake have in common? A love for lint rollers!

Q: You just finished up a grueling event and it’s time to let off some steam. So you are going to…

A: Sleep. Preferably on a beach somewhere, but really anywhere will do.

Q: Your ideal meal is eating (or dinner at) ________ and a glass of ___________.

A: This is honestly probably the toughest question; there are too many choices! I can’t say I have one favorite food or even cuisine, it really depends on the mood I’m in and oddly enough, the weather. Since the weather is starting to get nice and I love outdoor dining, it would probably have to tapas and a glass of white sangria. But ask me again in 6 months and it will be something completely different.

Q: What’s the most special place you’ve ever traveled to?

A: As you may have gathered, I love warm weather so one of my favorite places that I’ve visited is Lisbon, Portugal. I went with my best friend while we were studying abroad in Spain. The beaches are amazing, the architecture and neighborhoods are diverse and historic, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

Q: What’s the one thing you love most about the events industry?

A: I love that it’s always changing and the possibilities seem endless. There is always a new catering trend, a new venue opening, or a new technology you can incorporate. You could make a career out of just keeping track of what’s going on in the industry. It’s exciting to be able to see something really cool at an event and then be able to incorporate that into your event in your own unique and creative way.
