As the holiday season approaches, we at Sequence feel a tremendous sense of gratitude. The past year has given us the opportunity to get back to doing what we love: designing and producing in-person events! Coming out of two years of a pandemic that rocked our industry was no small feat, but the lessons learned have helped us make impactful changes, both internally and to our projects at large.
By pivoting to virtual and hybrid events, we expanded our client base and our team’s scope of capabilities. By offering a hybrid workplace, our employees have been empowered to determine their best work format for productivity as well as their mental and physical health. By listening and learning from each other in regards to the state of our current world, we have grown closer and laid plans to enhance our corporate social responsibility efforts. And while we have adjusted to these changes, we’ve also experienced immense growth, gaining over 20 full-time employees!
So while we’re thankful for what’s been accomplished and excited for what lies ahead, we also recognize that the larger team also presents a larger opportunity — and responsibility — to give back. With that, we wanted to share a bit about some exciting initiatives we’ve rolled out, including ways to contribute for anyone interested.
Pro Bono Initiative
Sequence is offering a pro bono initiative, providing our event consulting services to qualifying non-profit organizations at no cost. We hope to connect with groups that do the great work of uplifting historically marginalized communities and provide them with tools to produce engaging, inclusive, and successful events. Do you know of an organization that could use our help? Learn more here, including how to nominate them for consideration!
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
With the dedication and support of our incredible team, we have created three ERGs at Sequence:
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI),
- Sustainability, and
- Volunteerism
These employee-led committees are organizing activities, resources, education and initiatives to cultivate an equitable, eco-friendly, and philanthropic workplace. SEQ’s ERGs will weave these pillars into our event work, and also look to give back to the community at-large. If you have suggestions on areas of focus — whether it’s event-related or otherwise — we’d love to hear from you!
We’re looking forward to sharing more about these important initiatives, and to continue making ‘giving back’ a critical mission of Sequence.
